FAQs

The NextPM Advanced is specifically engineered for HVAC and ventilation duct environments where pressure differences can be significant. By connecting to an external pump rather than relying on an internal fan, the sensor maintains stable and accurate operation even under challenging pressure conditions. This design ensures consistent airflow and reliable PM monitoring in demanding HVAC applications.

Yes. The NextPM Advanced provides comprehensive particulate matter data in two formats: mass concentration (µg/m³) for PM1, PM2.5, and PM10, and particle count (pcs/L) across five size channels (0.3-0.5 µm, 0.5-1 µm, 1-2.5 µm, 2.5-5 µm, and 5-10 µm). This dual output capability allows for flexible data analysis depending on your specific air quality monitoring requirements.

With a mean time to failure (MTTF) of up to 10 years, the NextPM Advanced is built for reliable, long-term operation in HVAC systems. It features a fast 10-second warm-up time, operates across a wide temperature range (-20°C—70°C), and has minimal temperature influence on readings. The sensor also offers low power consumption in sleep mode (<5 mA), making it ideal for continuous monitoring installations.

The NextPM Advanced offers flexible communication options including UART, Modbus, and I2C protocols. This versatility ensures seamless integration into existing building management systems (BMS) and HVAC control platforms, allowing you to incorporate real-time particulate matter data into your facility’s overall air quality management strategy. The sensor’s fast refresh rate (adjustable to 1, 10, or 60 seconds) provides timely data for automated ventilation control responses.

The NextPM Advanced excels at detecting low-level particulate matter with a detection limit of less than 1 µg/m³. This high sensitivity is crucial for maintaining healthy indoor air quality in HVAC systems, where early detection of particle accumulation can trigger ventilation adjustments before air quality degrades. The sensor also maintains excellent linearity (<5% error) and repeatability (<3% error) across its full measurement range of 0—1000+ µg/m³.
